About Deep Release
Founded in 1994 by Dr Chris & Pauline Andrew, Deep Release offers some of the most innovative and exciting counselling training courses currently available in the UK. We train counsellors in the use of many different creative approaches, including the release of blocked emotions, Gestalt interventions, creative tools and pre- and perinatal psychotherapy (in-womb and very early trauma). We place strong emphasis on research, particularly in the areas of neuroscience, body work and trauma. A high priority is given to continuous professional development. Founded with a basis of Christian faith and spirituality, our courses are open to those of all faiths and none, and are grounded in major counselling approaches and theory (Person Centred, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Attachment theory etc), as well as current research. Some of our courses have very little actual Christian content, others (such as the Anger Workshop and When Church Hurts) have more of a spiritual emphasis). For those wanting to train as a Deep Release counsellor (formerly Principles and Practices of Deep Release), we offer a training programme specifically for counsellors who hold a Christian faith.
Courses take place in BRENTWOOD, ESSEX (main training centre), IPSWICH, WOLVERHAMPTON, SOUTHAMPTON, KENT, SUFFOLK and OXFORDSHIRE and are suitable for qualified and trainee counsellors and therapists. Many are also suitable for pastoral workers.
