SUMMARY:5 Ways of Working with Transactional Analysis
DESCRIPTION:Transactional Analysis (TA) is a practical model for understanding how people relate to themselves and others\, and why certain patterns can feel so hard to shift. It helps us notice what’s happening in communication\, how early experiences shape beliefs and “scripts\,” and how we can support clients to respond with more choice\, self-compassion\, and relational confidence. \nIn this online training day you’ll experience both the foundational and some less familiar TA concepts in action\, through simple\, practical interventions you can take straight into your counselling work. We’ll explore: \n\nScripts and Injunctions\nDrivers and Strokes\nPermissions\, Protection and Potency\nLoneliness\, Avoidance and Relational Patterns\nTA Traps (and how to avoid them)\n\nCreative\, experiential exercises will underpin the day\, and Buddy Groups in breakout rooms will give you plenty of opportunity to reflect on what you notice\, share your learning\, and practise with one another in a supportive environment. \nThis is not just theory — it’s about developing a clear\, accessible language you can use in the therapy room\, alongside a set of relational tools that help you work more effectively with stuckness\, shame\, relational loops\, and the pull to over-function or rescue. \nCome for yourself… come for your client. \nPauline says:\n“I love the way TA enables both counsellor and client to have an accessible language for understanding why some relationships feel difficult.  These patterns were often learned early in life for good reasons\, and TA brings clarity without blame\, and offers practical ways to move towards greater self-awareness\, choice\, and change.” \n
