With ‘Shadow Sisters’ Alex Gulland and Katy Bodman

Alex and Katy have been delving into shadow work for some time, exploring how this rich Jungian concept can be compassionately woven into how we understand ourselves and those we work with.

They’ve been trying this out in their own lives, noticing how the shadow shows up in their thoughts, reactions, and relationships, as well as bringing this awareness to client work. In this workshop, they invite you to explore alongside them and share what they are discovering along the way.

What if the parts of ourselves we hide, avoid, or judge aren’t problems to fix – but doorways to insight, creativity, and power?

These are often traits, emotions, or impulses we learned early on were “unacceptable,” so we pushed them away. Yet the shadow doesn’t disappear, it shows up in our reactions, relationships, dreams, and fascinations.

And when we begin to recognise these patterns, something shifts. Because yes – there is gold in the shadow, and behind what we fear or reject often lies an immense source of energy, insight, and possibility. 

Through the workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to:

• Recognise shadow dynamics in yourself and in the people you work with
• Notice how hidden or disowned parts show up in everyday and therapeutic relationships
• Explore ways of navigating triggers, reactions, and relational patterns
• Develop a more compassionate, non-judgemental way of working with yourself and others

When we bring light to what has been hidden, we don’t become darker, we become more whole. Come and explore with us!
