Based on Eric Berne’s ‘Games People Play’, we will look at classic blaming and avoiding games, passive aggressive games and other tactics to gain strokes by manipulation.

This course takes a fascinating, challenging and often humorous look at the games played both in and out of the counselling room.

Why is it often so hard to heal from wounds inflicted by a mother who did not meet our needs and how do we come to terms with lack of maternal love in the way we needed it?

Today we will explore different kinds of difficult mothering, considering how this can shape our self concept, and the maternal transference that often is present in the counselling room.

This evening Pauline and Jeremy will give an overview and demonstrations of the webapps now available for you to use in your online counselling sessions. There are some new ones we are really looking forward to sharing with you, and it will also be an opportunity for you to ask questions and get support.

Today's training will equip you to more deeply recognise and understand the effects of ruptures in the father-child relationship. We will deepen our understanding of clients who have experienced a 'difficult father,' and for the many who relate to this struggle, we hope you will feel validated and encouraged too.
