Vanessa Beaton

I am an experienced Integrative Counsellor with over twenty years of experience working with adults from a wide range of backgrounds across various settings. I provide a safe, caring, and confidential space where you can explore the challenges that may be affecting your emotional wellbeing.

I work in an integrative and flexible way, tailoring therapy to suit your individual needs, circumstances, and goals. My approach is empathetic, collaborative, and client-centred, meaning we work together at a pace that feels comfortable and right for you. I believe that building a trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful change.

I support people experiencing a broad range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, bereavement, and relationship challenges. I have a particular specialism in working with trauma, loss, and anxiety-related issues, and I aim to offer a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported.

As an integrative practitioner, I am trained in a range of therapeutic approaches, which allows me to adapt how I work to best support you as an individual. I also enjoy working creatively where appropriate, as this can be a helpful way of exploring both internal experiences and external relationships. Together, we may look at patterns of thinking, the roles you take on in relationships, and the ways you have adapted to cope with difficult life experiences. Developing self-awareness can open up opportunities for growth, change, and a renewed sense of hope.

I am passionate about supporting clients to better understand themselves and their relationships, explore emotions and life experiences, and move away from unhelpful thought patterns or coping strategies. My aim is to help you develop new perspectives that feel more aligned with your values, personality, and stage of life. Where it is important to you, I am also comfortable exploring issues of faith and spirituality within the counselling process.

I hold a degree in Counselling and am professionally accredited with the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC). I am also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and a registered provider with Bupa.

I offer counselling sessions face-to-face, online, or by telephone, providing flexibility to suit your needs. I also offer a free 20-minute initial telephone consultation, giving you the opportunity to ask questions, learn more about how I work, and decide whether my approach feels right for you.

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, but you do not have to face things alone. You are welcome to get in touch to find out more or arrange an initial conversation.
